Senior Risk Manager

This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing the operational risk management, reporting and analytics within the organisation. As a risk partner, you will assist by providing operational risk insights, specialist advice and independent challenge to help enable a strong risk aware culture and confident business. This role offers the flexibility to encompass other tasks and duties within your level of competence.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Risk Manager, you will play an integral part in supporting colleagues in understanding and maintaining adherence to operational risk obligations. You will provide analytical based risk insight (including credit and technology risk) to relevant committees. Your role will be crucial in managing root cause analysis of issues and incidents while identifying and implementing control improvements. You will also collaborate with various departments to accomplish common goals.

  • Responsible for the production of accurate risk reporting and analytics to relevant committees.
  • Support the Control Assurance Program by providing analytical testing, review and challenge of key controls.
  • Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements.
  • Collaborate with the business to complete assessment of risk in new projects and change initiatives.
  • Report on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents, remediation and other matters.
  • Manage the embedding and enhancement of the operational risk framework and controls assurance program within the organisation.
  • Responsible for the management, analysis, collating and reporting on Risk Appetite Metrics.
  • Assist with improvement in understanding, implementing and testing information security, technology and supplier governance controls.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Risk Manager position will bring a wealth of experience from the banking or financial services industry. You will have strong analytical skills coupled with a problem-solving attitude. Your ability to question processes, reconcile data, understand regulations and legislation will be key to your success in this role. Strong communication skills are essential as you'll need to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Law/Data Analytics or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Experience in undertaking analysis of customer activity.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to question the ‘why, what and how’ things are completed.
  • Ability to reconcile data.
  • Working knowledge of APRA, ASX and ASIC regulations and legislation.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships and drive results.
