Risk Manager

Parential leave cover - 12 month contract

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Risk Manager to join their team in Sydney. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic advice and oversight of the business's operational implementation and associated risk-taking activities. The successful candidate will have the chance to cultivate a culture of risk awareness, analyse core risk data, and contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, systems, and processes required for effective risk management

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a culture of risk awareness through leading initiatives related to governance, risk and compliance
• Provide oversight and monitoring of first line risk and business teams
• Complete accurate risk assessments on initiatives including adherence to Global policy requirements
• Analyse risk data from internal and external sources to identify emerging risks
• Promote continuous improvement of the internal control environment
• Prepare concise and meaningful professional risk and compliance reports for Management and Boards
• Coordinate cyclical risk activities across the portfolio efficiently
• Actively contribute to the priorities and work plans for the Pacific Risk & Compliance function

Requirements:

• University level qualifications in business management or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years' experience in a risk, compliance or legal role related to general insurance or insurance regulation
• Experience working in or providing services to a regulated financial services business
• Sound understanding of Risk and Compliance frameworks
• Ability to provide value add advice on risks, controls, process and administrative matters
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with foundation capability of operating with Boards
