Senior Analyst- Operational RIsk
We are seeking an experienced risk professional to join a Line 1 Risk and Compliance team at a leading bank on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of transition to a permanent role. Reporting to the Manager, Line 1 Risk and Compliance, you will partner with business leaders to uplift risk culture and mature risk management practices.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced risk professional to join a Line 1 Risk and Compliance team on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of transition to a permanent role. Reporting to the Manager, Line 1 Risk and Compliance, you will partner with business leaders to uplift risk culture and mature risk management practices.
The role will initially focus on improving the quality of key control documentation and supporting control owners to test the design and operating effectiveness of controls. You will work closely with stakeholders across Payments Settlements, Information Technology, Financial Markets Group, Banking, Finance, Enterprise Risk & Compliance and Audit.
Key Responsibilities

Provide risk subject matter expertise, coaching and guidance to uplift risk management practices across the business.

Support the identification and assessment of risks impacting business objectives.

Assist business areas to identify, document and implement key controls within business processes and IT systems.

Test the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and provide clear feedback to control owners.

Support the development of action plans to address control gaps and weaknesses.

Ensure risks, controls, issues and incidents are appropriately identified and maintained in the Risk Management System (RMS).

Provide risk advice in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of operational risk incidents.

Ensure alignment with organisational frameworks, policies, standards, regulatory obligations and risk appetite.
About You
-
5+ years’ experience in Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3 risk, compliance, assurance or audit roles, preferably within banking or financial services.

Strong experience documenting and testing key controls for design and operating effectiveness.

Demonstrated ability to influence and support business stakeholders.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Well-developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and issue resolution skills.
