On-hire Labour Agreement – Subclass 457 visa

Robert Walters has been granted an On-hire Labour Agreement by the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) that permits us to sponsor overseas skilled workers on the Subclass 457 visa and on-hire them to Australian organisations.

Robert Walters is able to place workers with skills in professions including but not limited to the following:

  • Accounting
  • Engineering
  • Financial Services
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Management Consulting
  • Marketing
  • Program Administration

Under this arrangement, Robert Walters engages the overseas skilled worker and is responsible for payroll, monitoring and compliance requirements. The worker will be an on-hire temporary worker of Robert Walters but still reports to the Australian organisation.

Standard Business Sponsorship Program – Subclass 457 visa

Robert Walters offers immigration services to Australian employers who are eligible or wish to become eligible to sponsor foreign professionals to work in Australia under the Subclass 457 visa program.

Under this arrangement, the foreign worker will be sponsored directly by the Australian employer with Robert Walters providing immigration services assisting the employer and employee with the visa application process.

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) – Subclass 186 visa

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) enables skilled overseas workers to secure Australian permanent residency through a nomination process with the prospective or existing employer organisation in Australia.

There are two distinct stages to this process:

  • The employer in Australia nominates a skilled role to be filled by the worker in Australia
  • The employee lodges a visa application to demonstrate they meet key skills, English language, health and character requirements

The ENS program is similar to the Subclass 457 visa program in that its employer driven. Where it is different is the detailed and extensive documents required from both the employer and employee to support the application.

Our professional and experienced Registered Migration Agents are qualified to advise on the option that best suits the specific set of circumstances of both the employer and the employee.

Skilled Migration Visas

These visas are for visa applicants who have skills and work experience that are in demand in Australia.

Applications can only be made once an invitation is issued by the DIBP. To be invited, the person must:

  • Submit an Express of Interest (EOI) online
  • Have a nominated occupation that is on the Consolidated Skilled
  • Occupation List (CSOL)
  • Have a suitable and positive skills assessment for the nominated occupation
  • Be less than 50 years of age when the invitation is issued
  • Meet English language requirements
  • Score at least 60 points on the points test

The points test is based upon the applicant’s skills, age, qualifications, employment history and English language ability.

Robert Walters is able to provide free eligibility assessments, as well as guidance and advice at different stages of the process from the EOI to the date the visa application is submitted.

Business Skills Visas

These visas encourage successful business owners, investors and senior business executives with a proven track record in another country to establish or develop a business or participate in investment activity in Australia. Similar to the Skilled Migration visas, an EOI will need to be lodged and individuals can only apply for a visa provided they receive an invitation from the DIBP to apply.
