About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to provide financial leadership, enterprise‑wide reporting, and strategic advisory support for a major NSW Government organisation. Working closely with the Finance Director and partnering with divisional Finance Managers, Business Partners, FP&A, Financial Accounting, and Treasury teams, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and enabling informed decision‑making across the organisation.
This role sits at the centre of enterprise reporting, planning, and financial governance—ideal for an Accountant who thrives in complex environments and enjoys driving high-quality financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present enterprise-level financial reports
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, including Treasury submissions and top‑down budget allocations.
- Provide strategic financial insights to influence and support decision‑making across the organisation.
- Coordinate financial activities across divisions to maintain alignment, accuracy, and consistency.
- Oversee month‑end and year‑end processes, including data consolidation, variance analysis, and commentary.
- Resolve data issues across financial systems (SAP, TM1, Prime) and maintain clean, consistent master data.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting for the Finance Director and key stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For

- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, TM1 and financial consolidation systems.
- Confident communicator able to partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- A strategic mindset with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
