Senior .net Dev

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior .NET Developer to join a highly respected government department based in Brisbane. This role is perfect for someone with at least seven years of experience who is passionate about hands-on development and eager to make a meaningful impact on public sector digital transformation.

You will be working closely with both State and Federal government departments, contributing your expertise in backend and middleware technologies while also having the chance to contribute to the data architecture.

Contract: 6 months + Extensions
Rate: AO7, negotiable

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with State and Federal government departments to deliver robust software solutions that meet complex business requirements and support essential public services.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend systems using .NET technologies, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across all applications.
• Contribute to architectural discussions by providing insights from your hands-on experience, helping to shape effective technical strategies for new and existing projects.
• Integrate middleware components seamlessly into broader system architectures, ensuring smooth data flow between various platforms and services.
• Develop and maintain APIs that enable secure communication between internal systems and external partners, supporting interoperability across government agencies.
• Utilise Azure cloud services to deploy, monitor, and optimise applications for performance, cost-effectiveness, and resilience.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing time-to-market for new features.
• Work with Snowflake data warehousing solutions to manage large datasets efficiently, supporting analytics and reporting needs across the organisation.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Document technical designs, workflows, and best practices clearly to ensure knowledge is shared effectively among colleagues.

What you bring:

• A minimum of seven years’ proven experience working as a .NET developer in complex environments where reliability and scalability are paramount.
• Demonstrated proficiency in C#, enabling you to write clean, efficient code that meets rigorous standards for maintainability.
• Hands-on experience with backend development frameworks and middleware integration techniques that support enterprise-level applications.
• Familiarity with solution architecture principles or previous involvement in architectural decision-making processes within project teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of Azure cloud services including deployment, monitoring, optimisation, and security best practices.
• Expertise in designing RESTful APIs that facilitate secure data exchange between disparate systems within large organisations.
• Practical knowledge of implementing CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools to streamline software delivery processes.
• Experience working with Snowflake or similar data warehousing platforms for managing large-scale datasets efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds across multiple departments.
