Senior Specialist Cyber Advisor

This role spans project consulting, solution assessments, security testing guidance, cloud and vendor risk assessments, and contributions to security patterns and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand security risks, define required controls, and ensure solutions align with organisational policies, industry best practice, and essential cyber capability frameworks.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide security consulting across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with internal security standards and industry best practice.
  • Conduct IT security risk assessments using established frameworks and methodologies.
  • Guide stakeholders on penetration testing, vulnerability scanning and secure coding, and interpret results with a risk‑based approach.
  • Perform cloud service and vendor security assessments across the organisation.
  • Review and advise on policies, standards, solution designs and documentation.
  • Offer general security guidance aligned with organisational security policy and essential practices.
  • Contribute to the development of security patterns, tooling and service integrations.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Cyber Advisory practice.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in information security, including architecture, design, consulting or security delivery in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, risk management, governance, business continuity and organisational resiliency.
  • Ability to assess solutions from a risk‑based perspective and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders, understanding business context, and driving secure outcomes.
  • Relevant tertiary and professional cyber/security architecture qualifications.
