F - Fico Functional Consultant
A leading public health organisation in Queensland is seeking a highly knowledgeable S/4HANA Finance and Controlling Functional Consultant to join their specialist delivery team on a contract basis. This pivotal role will see you play an integral part in the Central Pharmacy Future State Project, supporting the design, implementation, and optimisation of a modern enterprise software system that underpins critical supply chain operations across the state.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards as well as health and safety policies to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services within the workplace.
- Work collaboratively within a project environment to deliver assigned milestones, ensuring all deliverables meet specification and are completed on time according to established quality standards.
- Engage proactively with project teams and key stakeholders to understand business requirements, process challenges, and system needs while providing clear communication throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
- Design and implement new S/4HANA FICO configurations and WRICEF objects that align with business requirements and SAP best practices, ensuring scalability and adaptability for future needs.
- Develop master data structures such as business partner records, general ledger accounts, profit centres, cost centres, and funds in alignment with overall solution architecture.
- Ensure seamless integration between FICO and related modules including Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Business Technology Platform (BTP), as well as external systems.
- Collaborate closely with the S/4HANA Solution Architect to guarantee that FICO solutions align with architectural vision while complying with audit, data governance, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation including discussion papers, data standards, process flows, detailed design documents, configuration specifications, test scripts, and more.
- Conduct unit testing as well as support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, penetration testing, and other required phases to ensure robust solution delivery.
- Support knowledge transfer activities by upskilling staff members within the organisation while actively participating in change management processes to maximise solution adoption.
The ideal Candidate:
- Minimum five years’ experience implementing original S/4HANA FICO designs or requirements in greenfield implementations or live production environments is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to design bespoke S/4HANA FICO solutions that support operational supply chain processes across various implementation scenarios without relying solely on predefined templates or rollout configurations.
- Proven capability in translating complex business requirements into scalable SAP designs using strong analytical skills for fit-gap assessments.
- Deep understanding of FICO integration points with VIM (Vendor Invoice Management), MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), BTP (Business Technology Platform), as well as external systems.
- Extensive experience delivering SAP solutions across the full project lifecycle including design, build, testing phases (unit/system/user acceptance/performance/penetration), cutover planning/execution/hypercare/post-go-live stabilisation; experience within health or pharmaceutical sectors is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills demonstrated by effective communication with both technical experts and non-technical audiences throughout all stages of project delivery.
- SAP S/4HANA FICO certification is highly desirable; additional certifications in related modules such as VIM or Open Text are considered advantageous but not required.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive documentation including functional specifications/test scripts/process flows/discussion papers/data standards/configuration details for use by cross-functional teams.
