F - Solution Architect
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SAP Solution Architect to join a specialist delivery team supporting a major transformation project within the public health sector. This contract role, based in Brisbane CBD, offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping the future of clinical supply chain operations by designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure SAP S/4HANA solutions.
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: DOE
Location: Brisbane
Flex: Hybrid
What you'll do:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies, and procedures to ensure safe and high-quality services are delivered throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate closely with project teams and key stakeholders to understand business requirements, process challenges, and system needs, providing clear communication on architectural solutions.
- Develop comprehensive Solution Architecture Designs (SAD) and Solution Implementation Designs (SID) that inform the operational supply chain design for SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Define scalable integration patterns for SAP S/4HANA platforms, supporting various interfaces such as RFC, IDoc, OData, REST, SOAP, and enabling cloud-based integration through SAP BTP and CPI.
- Specify technical connectivity requirements including network zones, routing protocols, ports, firewall rules, and ensure secure connectivity between SAP systems and third-party applications.
- Establish authentication and identity architecture for SAP environments using mechanisms like SSO, SAML/OAuth authentication methods, certificate management, and controlled external connectivity.
- Contribute technical input into WRICEF components ensuring alignment with clean-core principles, extensibility standards, performance requirements, and upgrade-safe extensibility.
- Define performance metrics including scalability, availability, monitoring requirements for SAP S/4HANA systems; implement logging, alerting, and runtime optimisation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure, security, and network teams to validate technical requirements against architecture standards and ensure successful implementation.
- Support knowledge transfer activities by upskilling staff members through documentation handover sessions to embed capability within the organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in enterprise-level technical architecture with significant exposure to SAP environments—particularly operational supply chain processes within SAP S/4HANA ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive Solution Architecture Designs (SADs) and Solution Implementation Designs (SIDs), referencing enterprise policy frameworks and standards.
- Proven track record designing technical architectures across multiple domains including applications, data management, infrastructure planning, security protocols, and system integration.
- Hands-on experience implementing cloud models such as HEC or RISE alongside integration patterns involving SAP BTP/CPI services as well as interfacing with third-party applications like customer ordering platforms or transport carrier solutions.
- Expertise defining secure integration architectures utilising RFCs, IDocs/OData/REST APIs; managing interface security through certificates/tokens/encryption/trust stores; establishing secure connectivity patterns for both internal/external systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of network architecture including zones/routing/DMZ patterns/firewall rules; experience validating throughput/latency/resilience requirements for large-scale SAP deployments.
- Strong grasp of business processes relevant to operational supply chains coupled with an ability to translate these into functional technology solutions that drive efficiency/compliance/performance improvements.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills demonstrated by effective communication with both technical specialists/non-technical audiences throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Certifications in architecture or solution design (such as TOGAF or similar industry-standard frameworks) are highly regarded but not mandatory; experience in health or pharmaceutical sectors is desirable but not essential.
