- Draft high-quality documents including operational policies, submissions, proposals, reports, fact sheets, and communiques tailored for diverse audiences within the organisation.
- Exercise sound judgement in managing competing priorities while collaborating closely with colleagues or working independently to deliver outcomes within set timeframes.
- Report regularly on project status to identify risks and issues early, ensuring successful completion of key initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation such as the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 by assisting government and non-government agencies in upholding the Charter of Victims’ Rights.
- Contribute actively to maintaining an equitable, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture free from harassment or discrimination.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities by providing feedback on existing processes and suggesting enhancements where appropriate.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisory or management staff in alignment with professional standards.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated experience in developing public policy or operational guidelines within a government or community services context, ideally related to victim support or justice systems.
- Exceptional written communication skills with proven ability to draft concise reports, submissions, proposals, and guidance documents tailored for varied audiences.
- Strong analytical abilities enabling you to conduct thorough research, interpret complex data sets, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to build rapport quickly with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds while facilitating collaborative decision-making processes.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy of outputs.
- Sound judgement when prioritising tasks in ambiguous situations where answers may not be immediately apparent.
- Proficiency in organising material systematically for maximum efficiency while minimising duplication of effort across teams.
- Commitment to upholding principles of equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion within all aspects of your work environment.
- Resilience when exposed to potentially distressing content or engaging with individuals who have experienced trauma; awareness of personal coping strategies is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, law, social sciences or related fields are highly regarded but not mandatory.
