Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and manage a new solution, replacing the current payment calculation and processing platforms. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing complex digital transformation projects using agile methodology.

What you'll do:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of implementing a modern payment management solution. You will be responsible for leading the this piece of work from inception to completion, ensuring smooth interoperability between systems while aligning with program objectives. Your role will involve facilitating communication between various stakeholders, developing essential artefacts, coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring project progress, and proactively managing risks. Your strategic thinking will contribute to delivering high-quality solution outcomes that enhance overall project effectiveness.

  • Managing and leading the full project lifecycle
  • Facilitating clear and effective communication channels between project team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Developing and maintaining essential artefacts such as project plans, schedules, status reports, and project Risk logs.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress, quality assurance activities.
  • Proactively identifying, assessing, and addressing project risks and challenges.


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Project Manager role brings extensive experience in managing complex ICT Projects within Queensland Government. You will possess strong leadership skills that inspire confidence among team members. Exceptional communication skills to convey complex information effectively to various stakeholders. Demonstrates strategic thinking abilities, anticipating challenges and developing innovative solutions. Proficiency in risk management ensures the successful delivery of projects. Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate through changing project requirements and timelines. Technical competence and stakeholder management skills are crucial for this role.

  • Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex information to stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking abilities to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with complex IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, technologies, and methodologies relevant to the project, including software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Capability to analyse problems, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and timelines.
  • Proficiency in applying appropriate project management frameworks, with the ability to promote and provide guidance on the use of relevant techniques, methodologies, and tools, preferably aligned with PRINCE2 or PMBoK.
  • Project Management Certification: Possession of a recognized project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP with a minimum of 7 years' industry experience as a Senior Project Manager. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Business Administration is highly desirable.
  • Experience as a Project Manager within Queensland Government
