Opportunity for System Administrator and System Engineer Positions

We are partnering with a prominent Federal Government organisation, specializing in foreign signals intelligence, military operations, cyber warfare, and information security. Multiple roles available for a long-term contract (12+12+12 months) based at Brindabella Business Park, Canberra.

These roles will be integral to a major program focused on enhancing and building ICT systems to support key organisational functions.

System Administrator Requirements

• Technical Expertise:

  • Proven experience and qualifications in Microsoft server and desktop technologies (including Exchange, WSUS, MECM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience in administering Omnissa (VMware EUC) and Citrix Cloud technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in deployment and imaging technology.

• Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a Windows server platform, including Active Directory, DNS, PKI, and remote desktop services.
  • Design, test, and deploy new versions of the Windows operating system, build and maintain system images, and integrate with VMware and Citrix VDI Platforms.
  • Integrate and manage security software and configurations.
  • Provide automation for VM images and templates.
  • Monitor VDI performance and optimize tools for a dynamic network environment.
  • Implement MFA solutions and conduct regular system health checks.
  • Develop and manage backup and recovery services for virtualized Windows systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows-related issues.

System Engineer Requirements

• Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer with a strong background in system design and integration.

• Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design process and lead communication within the team to develop solutions that align with current and future project requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and manage engineering artefacts to deliver required project capabilities.
  • Manage engineering risks and issues at the project level, escalating as needed.
  • Develop reports and acceptance documentation, and provide system integration support with minimal supervision.
