APS6 Senior Project Officer - Data Support

Our client, a large Federal Government organisation, is seeking Project Officers to join their team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to be part of a significant project that will have a substantial impact on the Australian community. The successful candidate will be based in Canberra and will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing reporting systems and registers to ensure data integrity.

What you'll do:

As an APS6 Senior Project Officer - Data Support, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the integrity of our client's data. You'll monitor for potential issues, provide technical support when problems arise, and manage these issues through to resolution. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with team members across various business areas. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining database architecture, data structures, tables, dictionaries, and naming conventions. You'll also develop Excel-based tools for data collection, validation, and reporting purposes.

  • Maintain and manage reporting systems and registers to ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor and identify data concerns, provide technical support on issues identified and manage through to resolution.
  • Maintain database architecture, data structures, tables, dictionaries and naming conventions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data master files.
  • Perform the operational establishment and preventive maintenance of backups, recovery procedures, enforcing security and integrity controls.
  • Effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Propose and facilitate change and contribute to business improvement strategies.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based tools and templates for data collection, validation, and reporting purposes.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the APS6 Senior Project Officer - Data Support role brings extensive experience in data analytics or a related field. Your expertise in Excel functions will allow you to manipulate complex datasets effectively. Your strong analytical skills coupled with your meticulous attention to detail will enable you to identify potential issues before they become problems. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members across various business areas will be key in this role.

  • Experience in data analytics, information systems, computer science or a related field.
  • Expertise in Excel functions and formulas, with the ability to manipulate and analyse complex data sets.
  • Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
