What you'll do:
As a Procurement Advisor based on the Gold Coast, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery through effective procurement strategies. Your day-to-day activities will involve providing expert advice on sourcing and contract management, ensuring compliance with government policies while driving best practice supplier relationship management. You will collaborate extensively with finance managers, executive directors, and other stakeholders to develop robust procurement plans that align with organisational goals. By preparing comprehensive documentation such as briefing notes and board papers, you will influence key decisions that impact both cost efficiency and service quality. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you evaluate data from various sources to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements. Project management will be central to your responsibilities as you oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring risks are mitigated effectively. - Provide expert procurement and commercial advice to executive and senior management, including negotiation with suppliers and developing mitigation strategies to manage supply risk.
- Undertake all aspects of end-to-end divisional and organisational procurement support requirements, collaborating with key stakeholders across divisions to manage high-value contracts.
- Support the Manager of Strategic Procurement in developing annual procurement planning by collating divisional plans and aligning them with organisational priorities.
- Prepare briefing notes, board papers, concept papers, and other documentation to support evidence-based recommendations and informed decision-making in procurement.
- Deliver and implement key sourcing and demand management initiatives using negotiation skills to improve commercial outcomes while engaging stakeholders through contemporary change management practices.
- Work closely with Divisional Finance Managers to ensure a cohesive approach to financial services, supporting an integrated team environment across the organisation.
- Conduct systematic analysis from diverse data sources to recommend and report on demand management initiatives aimed at generating savings and unlocking efficiencies.
- Establish clear project plans for key initiatives, monitor project performance, identify risks, and apply appropriate mitigation actions as necessary.
- Influence executive management regarding value creation through procurement by collaborating with operational staff, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead multiple organisation-wide projects by leveraging individual and team capabilities to deliver results on time according to objectives and plans.

- Demonstrated experience in procurement processes including sourcing, contract management, supplier negotiations, and risk mitigation within either commercial or government sectors.
- Proven ability to provide expert advice on complex procurement matters while maintaining compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Strong analytical skills with experience conducting systematic analysis of diverse data sources to inform decision-making in demand management initiatives.
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through preparation of briefing notes, board papers, concept papers, or similar documentation supporting evidence-based recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries with finance managers, executive directors, suppliers, operational staff, and other stakeholders in pursuit of shared objectives.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously including establishing project plans, monitoring performance metrics, identifying risks, and applying mitigation strategies as needed.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity of perspectives while promoting ethical behaviour among colleagues.
- Capacity for continuous improvement through engagement in training opportunities or professional development activities related to procurement best practices.
