About the role:
The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity that assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural, and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and freshwater country.
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager and working closely with the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing support to the business within the areas of recruitment, onboarding and induction, policy interpretation, employee engagement, and learning and development. The role will coordinate HR activities, as well as data and information to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with recruitment processes including creating job ads, booking interviews, assisting selection panels, reference checks, maintaining candidate data and providing reports
- Preparing offers of employment and variation letters.
- Coordinating the onboarding of employees
- Provide data to managers to ensure that they are managing the employment lifecycle
- Provide general information regarding HR policy and procedures, and relevant enterprise agreements, referring more complex queries to other team members
- Ensure relevant training is completed by employees and systems are updated reflecting this.
- Provides administrative and other support to the team and other relevant Committees
Key Requirements:
- Understanding the general application and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Demonstrated experience in supporting end-to end recruitment process
- Previous experience with HR/Learning software and systems
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
