HR Business Partner

This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing a casual workforce and ensuring smooth operations. The successful candidate will have experience with time and attendance systems, managing weekly timesheets, and liaising with payroll for weekly paid staff. This role with cover the full employee lifecycle from recruitment, onboarding, L&D, performance management through to the offboarding phase. You will work on a team of 3.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will provide regular updates on HR activities and initiatives. Your ability to work collaboratively with the payroll team will be key in ensuring seamless integration of HR and payroll functions.

  • Manage a casual workforce within the hospitality sector, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of staff satisfaction
  • Utilise time and attendance systems effectively to manage weekly timesheets
  • Handle full employee lifecycle in what will be a generalist position
  • Look after cyclical HR activities including rem reviews, performance reviews etc
  • Handle ER matters as they arise in collaboration with the Sr HR Manager
  • Nurture a positive working culture to encourage employee retention
  • Liaise closely with payroll to ensure accurate and timely payment for weekly paid staff
  • Handle recruitment needs independently, utilising job postings to attract top talent
  • Report directly to senior management, providing regular updates on HR activities and initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the payroll team to ensure seamless integration of HR and payroll functions
  • Note: this role is 5 days in office in Sydney CBD

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Human Resources Business Partner role will bring proven experience from the hospitality or retail sector. Your strong knowledge of time and attendance systems, coupled with your experience managing a casual workforce, will be key to your success in this role. Your ability to liaise effectively with payroll teams and handle recruitment needs independently will set you apart. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you'll be reporting directly to senior management and working closely with various teams.

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner within the hospitality or retail sector
  • Strong knowledge of time and attendance systems
  • Experience managing a casual workforce
  • Ability to liaise effectively with payroll teams
  • Experience handling recruitment needs independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
