Senior HR Advisor

We are currently seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join a dynamic team. As a Senior HR Advisor, you will be responsible for providing general human resource advice, support, and guidance to managers, team leaders, and staff. You will also play a crucial role in supporting the resourcing and recruitment activity for our organisation to meet current and future needs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Providing accurate and timely HR advice to all stakeholders on matters across the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Acting as a point of contact for staff in regard to HR matters, including managing the main email inbox.
  • Offering practical guidance and support to managers and team leaders in day-to-day effective people management practice and processes, including performance management.
  • Ensuring HR advice and practices adhere to legislative and industrial obligations.
  • Assisting managers and team leaders with their recruitment needs, delivering engaging recruitment advertising that attracts appropriate candidates.
  • Supporting managers in the administration, handling, and assessment of candidates, ensuring skills and cultural fit based on recognised best practice and our recruitment and selection policies and processes.
  • Managing personnel administration tasks including onboarding and offboarding employees, internal transition tasks, and ensuring accuracy of data on our HRIS system.
  • Supporting the administration processes around the onboarding and appointment of people into our organisation, as well as for employees changing roles within the organisation.
  • Facilitating student and volunteer placements, ensuring maximum experience and benefit for all parties involved.
  • Ensuring the delivery of the HR service to stakeholders meets agreed service level agreements.
  • Assisting the HR team in communicating and delivering initiatives that support workforce management, management capability, and organisational development.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging and innovative HR practices and compliance requirements and making recommendations for implementation.
  • Acting as a client/customer-focused, values-based team member and abiding by all relevant policies, procedures, standards, and legislation.



Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least 4 years' experience in generalist HR practice and advice in a medium to large organisation, preferably within the mining and construction industry
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of people management processes and practice across the entire employee life cycle
  • Proven capacity to apply innovative recruitment and selection practices and effectively support hiring managers
  • Proven capacity to develop and implement HR process improvements and initiatives
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to be solution-focused and hands-on in every aspect of the position
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and engage with internal and external stakeholders and gain credibility with senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, prioritise, and deliver on multiple tasks and achieve deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • An engaging and coaching style and the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve outcomes.
  • Proficiency in HR systems
