Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join their team in Western Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all internal and external health, safety and environment requirements in compliance with company policy, legislative requirements, and business objectives. This role would be suited to someone coming from the manufacturing environment or another high risk industry.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT (HSE) MANAGER
What you'll do:
As an HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental requirements are met within the organisation. You will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of the company's HSE Management System across multiple sites. Your role will involve accurate incident/event/hazard reporting, managing incidents, injuries, near misses, as well as conducting routine and ad hoc HSE inspections. You will also assist in coordinating HSE training for the sites supported by you. Your ability to consolidate lead and lag indicators for each site will ensure accurate reporting against business KPIs. You will report into the National HSE Manager and work closely with the Operations Manager, both of whiom are based in Sydney.
* Direct the development and implementation of the company's HSE Management System within the locations supported.
* Accurate and prompt incident/event/hazard reporting and investigation.
* Management of incidents, injuries and near misses.
* Direct site-level incident investigations to drive improvements and increase our HSE capacity.
* Support the rollout of HSE projects and critical risk reduction plans.
* Verify safety and environmental compliance across the sites.
* Perform routine and ad hoc HSE inspections and observations.
* Consolidate lead and lag indicators for each site to ensure accurate reporting against business KPIs.
* Assist in the coordination and implementation of HSE training respective to the sites supported.
* Management of workers compensation claims, including reporting, claim management and return to work programs.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this HSE Manager position brings a wealth of experience in a multi-site or consultative HSE role, ideally within the manufacturing industry or an equivalent high-risk industry. You will hold qualifications in OHS and Environmental discipline (Certificate IV/Diploma or above) with a minimum of Diploma or Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree in a relevant field. Your track record of developing, implementing, and evaluating aspects of a corporate HSE Management System will be crucial to your success in this role. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is your ability to make agile decisions in a fast-paced global organisation. Proficiency in the use of MS Office 365 Suite, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams is also required.
