Human Resources Generalist

Save job

Join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Human Resources Generalist based in Melbourne, supporting a diverse workforce across Australia, New Zealand and the broader APAC region. With a flat structure that encourages open communication across all levels of the business, this newly created role blends hands-on HR advisory with strategic projects, including well-being, benefits and HRIS implementation.

As a Human Resources Generalist based, you will play an integral part in supporting approximately 170 employees across Australia, New Zealand, India, Thailand, and Korea. Working within a flat, collaborative structure, you’ll partner closely with leaders and employees to deliver trusted HR advice while contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance employee experience and wellbeing. The role combines hands-on generalist responsibilities with exposure to benefits management, onboarding and Oracle HRIS implementation in a supportive, inclusive environment.

What you’ll do

  • Act as a trusted HR advisor on employee relations, performance, absence management and compliance

  • Support end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, documentation and policy management

  • Champion wellbeing and engagement initiatives across a diverse, multi-country workforce

  • Manage and advise on benefits programs including pensions, health and insurance offerings

  • Ensure HR policies and practices align with Australian and New Zealand employment legislation

  • Contribute to cross-functional and regional HR projects across APAC

  • Support the implementation and optimisation of Oracle HRIS systems

What you’ll bring

Your background should include proven experience handling end-to-end HR responsibilities within either manufacturing or similarly structured environments. Your interpersonal strengths will enable you to build rapport quickly with colleagues from various backgrounds—whether they are based locally or internationally.

  • Proven experience in a hands-on HR generalist role, ideally within manufacturing or similar environments

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment law

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Confidence operating within matrix and international organisational structures

  • Experience or exposure to benefits administration and HR processes

  • Highly organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • A collaborative, empathetic mindset and genuine passion for inclusive workplace cultures
