What you'll do:
As a Human Resources Advisor, you will immerse yourself in a broad spectrum of responsibilities designed to support both operational excellence and employee wellbeing. Your day-to-day activities will involve working closely with managers to facilitate recruitment campaigns from start to finish—ensuring each step is handled efficiently and inclusively. You will champion onboarding processes that set new starters up for success while also being a go-to resource for advice on workplace relations issues such as performance management or conflict resolution. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you maintain accurate records in line with legal requirements and collaborate with payroll colleagues. Additionally, you will contribute to learning and development initiatives by identifying training needs and helping design impactful programmes. By fostering open communication channels across departments and continuously seeking ways to improve HR processes, you will help create an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
- Facilitate comprehensive end-to-end recruitment and selection processes across multiple business entities by partnering closely with managers to source, interview, and select qualified candidates.
- Refine and enhance recruitment policies, procedures, guides, and systems to ensure best practice standards are consistently met throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate seamless onboarding experiences for new employees by collaborating with line managers and supporting probation review processes to foster early engagement.
- Deliver timely and accurate HR services by responding to stakeholder needs with empathy and professionalism while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Support managers in resolving workplace relations matters by offering practical advice on performance management, absence management, conduct issues, conflict resolution, or disciplinary action.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Modern Awards, employment contracts, industry standards, and HR best practices to provide informed guidance on compliance matters.
- Ensure the integrity of HR records by updating employee information accurately in collaboration with the payroll team and monitoring regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist in implementing HR strategy projects or initiatives as assigned by contributing insights that drive positive change within the organisation.
- Partner with managers to identify training needs and develop tailored learning programmes that support career pathways and ongoing talent management initiatives.
- Foster effective communication with department heads and stakeholders by collecting feedback on HR processes and suggesting improvements to enhance the overall stakeholder experience.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business (Human Resource Management) or related field or equivalent experience demonstrating strong foundational knowledge of contemporary HR practices.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling you to convey complex information clearly while adapting your approach for different audiences across the organisation.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels through empathy, reliability, and consistent follow-through on commitments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing end-to-end recruitment processes including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, coordinating onboarding activities, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
- Solid understanding of Fair Work Act, Fair Work Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act as well as practical application of Modern Awards and common law employment contracts.
- Experience providing advice on employee relations matters such as performance management issues, absence management concerns, conduct investigations or disciplinary actions using a consultative approach.
- Strong organisational skills allowing you to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Experience working with payroll or HR information systems (such as HR3), including interpreting relevant legislation or agreements related to pay or entitlements.
- Ability to resolve conflicts between parties in an operational context using negotiation skills that promote positive outcomes for all involved parties.
- Desirable: Working knowledge of specific Modern Awards (e.g., Clerks – Private Sector; Real Estate Industry; Pastoral; Miscellaneous; Registered & Licensed Clubs; Cement Lime & Quarrying), exposure to blue collar environments or data analytics/reporting capabilities.
