There’s currently an opportunity for a an experienced WHS Manager to take ownership of safety across a growing network of branches, supporting over 600 employees and shaping a culture where safety is genuinely valued.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workplace Health & Safety Manager to join our Corporate Office in Darra. This senior leadership role reports to the Executive General Manager – Corporate Services and Business Improvements and works closely with leaders across Australia and New Zealand to deliver best-practice safety strategies and risk management initiatives.
This is a hands-on role that combines strategic leadership with active engagement on the ground, including site inspections, risk assessments, and practical safety solutions alongside operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and foster a safety-first culture across all operations.
- Partner with teams to identify hazards, conduct site inspections, and implement practical safety solutions.
- Ensure compliance with WHS/OH&S legislation, Fire & Evacuation, First Aid, Testing & Tagging, and multi-state WorkCover requirements.
- Collaborate on incident investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate safety audits and risk assessments, driving continuous improvement.
- Guide rehabilitation and workers’ compensation processes to support safe return-to-work outcomes.
- Deliver and maintain effective safety training programs aligned with regulatory standards.
- Liaise with service providers, regulators, and partners across Australia and New Zealand.
- Present clear, actionable safety insights to the Board, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
About You
- Formal qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (Cert IV required, Diploma highly desirable).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a WHS leadership or advisory role, ideally within logistics or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of WorkCover legislation and injury management across multiple states.
- Proven experience in risk management, hazard control, and embedding a safety-first culture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and influence safety outcomes at all levels.
