People & Safety Administration Officer
As a People and Safety Advisor, you will drive HR administration and WHS functions across QLD, NT, and WA. You’ll coordinate onboarding, manage HR databases, and oversee recruitment transfers while monitoring group inboxes. Key duties include advising on safety compliance, leading incident investigations, and auditing contractors via RapidGlobal. Success requires meticulous record-keeping and proactive communication to support strategic safety initiatives and foster a positive corporate culture
What you bring:
The ideal People and Safety Advisor brings proven experience in collaborative environments where teamwork is essential for achieving shared goals. Your interpersonal skills allow you to connect easily with colleagues at all levels while supporting operational teams spread across vast geographic areas. You possess excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal—that help you listen empathetically when addressing concerns or providing guidance. Attention to detail is second nature as you manage complex records accurately within HR databases or training registers. Adaptability enables you to embrace new technologies or procedures swiftly while projecting professionalism whenever representing the organisation. Your willingness to travel ensures you can provide hands-on support at various properties as required. Qualifications or experience related to Work Health & Safety enhance your suitability but are not mandatory; what matters most is your commitment to ethical conduct, respect for diversity, adherence to policies, resilience under pressure, openness to learning from feedback—and above all—a genuine desire to nurture a safe workplace where everyone feels valued.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams while building strong relationships at all levels of the organisation through effective networking skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills that enable you to listen actively and understand others’ perspectives when supporting colleagues or liaising with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail supported by sound planning and organisational abilities; willingness to undertake skills tests or personality type indicators if required.
- Computer literacy across Microsoft Suite of Programs combined with adaptability to learn new systems quickly as business needs evolve.
- Professional image projection when representing the company externally or internally; initiative shown through proactive problem-solving approaches.
- Current advanced first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain) along with a C Class manual motor vehicle licence for travel as needed across properties in Queensland, NT or WA.
- Ability to follow instructions from others respectfully without unnecessarily challenging authority; adherence to procedures ensures compliance with legal obligations.
- Experience or qualifications in Work Health & Safety are highly regarded but not essential; administration experience within HR or safety functions is preferable especially within agribusiness environments.
- Commitment to upholding ethics and values by promoting equal opportunities; encouraging responsibility towards community involvement and environmental stewardship.
- Resilience under pressure demonstrated by maintaining composure during challenging situations; constructive response to feedback fosters personal growth.
