What you'll do:
As a Quality Risk and Compliance Auditor based in Brisbane, you will play an integral part in advancing the organisation’s mission by embedding effective quality assurance practices throughout its operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading both internal and external audits across diverse business functions—ensuring that every process aligns with rigorous industry standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and HSQF. You will work closely with various teams to review documentation for accuracy, develop robust reporting mechanisms for senior leadership, and use your insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives. By actively monitoring legislative changes and engaging with stakeholders at all levels—including facilitating workshops or focus groups—you will help foster a culture of shared responsibility for quality outcomes. Your ability to coordinate WHS audits, manage feedback platforms for complaints or incidents, and contribute to strategic planning will be essential in maintaining high standards of governance. - Lead the development, implementation, and delivery of comprehensive internal and external audit programmes aligned with legislative, contractual, and accreditation standards including ISO 9001:2015, HSQF, and WHS requirements.
- Audit the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS), identifying opportunities for improvement while ensuring documentation, policies, procedures, forms, and internal controls meet all relevant legal and industry standards.
- Support the review and validation of QMS documentation as part of audit preparation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Drive the strategic evolution of internal auditing frameworks by creating, overseeing, and reviewing risk-based audit schedules, tracking systems, management reporting tools, and learning resources.
- Develop executive-level reporting frameworks to monitor audit outcomes, risks, corrective actions, and post-audit improvements while integrating findings into broader risk management strategies.
- Continuously monitor payroll and finance system compliance using audit outcomes to influence improvement initiatives across all business areas.
- Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to embed corrective actions from audits into daily operations while sustaining improvements over time.
- Monitor changes in legislation or standards to inform audit scope adjustments as needed for ongoing compliance.
- Lead or support document management system (DMS) audits including review cycles, document currency checks, policy alignment reviews, and DMS-related improvement projects.
- Coordinate risk and workplace health & safety (WHS) compliance audits; analyse trends in incident data; escalate systemic issues appropriately; contribute to risk-informed audit strategies supporting proactive assurance.

- Tertiary qualifications in Quality, Risk Management, Compliance, Commerce, Finance, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), or related discipline are required for this position.
- Certification as a Lead Auditor (such as ISO 9001 or HSQF) or equivalent is essential along with WHS training or certification (minimum Certificate IV WHS).
- Demonstrated experience conducting internal audits—particularly within regulated or multi-site environments—and proven ability to report on findings effectively is highly valued.
- Experience leading payroll or finance system audits as well as external audits involving certification bodies is important for success in this role.
- A strong understanding of risk-based audit planning principles combined with post-audit corrective action management skills is necessary.
- In-depth knowledge of quality systems frameworks (including ISO 9001:2015), WHS legislation requirements, compliance obligations within finance/payroll domains is expected.
- Excellent written communication skills are required for preparing detailed reports; high-level attention to detail ensures accurate analysis of patterns or gaps during audits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite plus familiarity with quality/compliance platforms such as SharePoint or digital risk registers is advantageous.
