A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Talent Advisor to join a transformative rail infrastructure delivery office in Brisbane, supporting the advancement of Queensland’s passenger rail network. This pivotal role offers you the chance to shape the future workforce behind some of the state’s most significant rail projects, including major investments ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. You will be at the heart of a collaborative environment, working closely with executive leaders and external partners to deliver best-in-class recruitment solutions. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace, where your expertise in talent acquisition will directly contribute to long-term success and growth. With flexible working opportunities and access to ongoing training, this position is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, driving positive change, and ensuring seamless onboarding experiences. * Play a key role in delivering large-scale rail infrastructure projects that will transform public transport across Queensland over the next decade, contributing to legacy initiatives ahead of global sporting events. * Enjoy a highly collaborative environment where you will work alongside senior executives, hiring managers, and third-party agencies to ensure strategic alignment and exceptional candidate care throughout the recruitment process. * Benefit from flexible working arrangements and continuous professional development opportunities within a forward-thinking team dedicated to building future capabilities in rail delivery.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Talent Advisor, you will play an integral part in shaping the workforce behind Queensland’s largest rail infrastructure projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around managing end-to-end executive-level recruitment processes in partnership with external agencies. You will be instrumental in guiding hiring managers through best practice approaches, maintaining robust relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that all activities are compliant with relevant policies. By preparing insightful reports and coordinating resources effectively, you will help drive successful project outcomes while supporting smooth onboarding experiences for new team members. Your ability to foster strategic partnerships will be essential in building a resilient talent pipeline that supports both immediate project needs and long-term organisational goals.

  • Manage all communications with external recruitment partners and oversee vendor contracts to ensure compliance with organisational policies while achieving performance and value-for-money outcomes.
  • Train and guide hiring managers as well as stakeholders on recruitment best practices, tools, and processes to foster consistent standards across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior executives, hiring managers, and external providers to support effective collaboration throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards that monitor recruitment performance, providing actionable insights for stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Coordinate resources and schedules efficiently to meet both recruitment objectives and project timelines, ensuring smooth delivery of talent acquisition activities.
  • Oversee onboarding processes using HR systems to guarantee seamless transitions for new hires while prioritising candidate care at every stage.
  • Maintain accurate records of all recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring strict adherence to compliance requirements and organisational standards.
  • Support strategic partnerships that strengthen the talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs within the rail infrastructure program.
  • Act as the primary HR contact for executive-level recruitment within the delivery office, liaising directly with senior leaders including the General Manager.
  • Contribute proactively to problem-solving efforts by identifying challenges in recruitment processes and implementing effective solutions.

What you bring:

Your extensive background in executive-level talent acquisition within government or similarly regulated sectors will be invaluable in this Senior Talent Advisor role. You bring not only technical expertise but also outstanding interpersonal abilities that enable you to connect with senior leaders and external partners alike. Your meticulous approach ensures accuracy across documentation and reporting tasks while your adaptability allows you to thrive amidst shifting priorities. A deep understanding of public sector frameworks underpins your work as you apply HR knowledge effectively across all stages of recruitment. Your capacity for clear communication supports collaborative efforts throughout the organisation while your commitment to ethical standards guarantees integrity in every aspect of your role.

  • Proven experience of at least five years managing large-scale end-to-end recruitment processes at an executive level within government or similar environments.
  • Exceptional engagement skills enabling you to build rapport with Executive and Senior Leaders as well as act as a trusted liaison for high-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail when handling complex recruitment documentation, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Adaptability in managing competing priorities within a dynamic environment while proactively resolving challenges related to talent acquisition.
  • Comprehensive understanding of public sector policies, procedures, legislative requirements, and their practical application within HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems used for onboarding processes coupled with a commitment to candidate care throughout transitions.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills that facilitate co-operation between internal teams and external partners alike.
  • Ability to prepare clear performance reports that provide valuable insights into recruitment effectiveness for various audiences.
  • Experience developing training materials or delivering guidance on recruitment best practices to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards in all aspects of record-keeping, compliance management, and relationship-building.
