Our client is seeking a Business Analyst with a focus on payroll analysis. This role involves delivering comprehensive investigations and reconciliations of payroll data, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) to deliver project and business outcomes to an exceptional standard. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining payroll governance, developing new processes, and ensuring risk and compliance controls are in place.

What you'll do:

As a Business Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive payroll analysis activities. You will act as a subject matter expert in this area, leveraging your knowledge to support the delivery of project outcomes. Your role will involve investigating and resolving issues submitted by colleagues, as well as those escalated from other services or received from audits. You will work closely with various partners within the Operational Excellence function to deliver payroll-related activities. Your expertise will also be crucial in reviewing, designing, and improving payroll processes and systems. A key part of your role will be to complete governance activities, ensuring alignment across projects within the Operational Excellence division and the wider People & Culture division. You will work closely with these teams to ensure the accuracy of payroll content and an exceptional user experience. Additionally, you will identify and implement continuous improvement activities.

  • Delivery of payroll reconciliation and investigation activity
  • Leverage payroll SME knowledge to support the delivery of payroll project outcomes
  • Delivery of payroll related activities for the Operational Excellence function working with various partners
  • Leverage payroll knowledge to review, design and improve payroll processes & systems
  • Complete payroll governance activities
  • Ensure alignment of approaches with Projects across the organisation
  • Work closely with People & Culture teams to ensure accuracy of payroll content and exceptional user experience
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Business Analyst role brings proven experience in business analysis, particularly within payroll functions. You have a strong understanding of risk management and compliance controls, which you apply when investigating complex issues and providing solutions. Your background includes experience in process improvement methodologies, which you leverage when identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Your excellent communication skills enable you to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and your strong attention to detail ensures accuracy even in high-pressure situations.

  • Proven experience in business analysis within payroll functions (must have)
  • Strong understanding of risk management and compliance controls
  • Ability to investigate complex issues and provide solutions
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in high-pressure situations
