Our client is seeking highly experienced and security cleared Security Advisors, Security Analysts and Test Engineers for a 3-year program of work to build and uplift ICT systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a large-scale project that will significantly impact the organisation's elements. The role offers the chance to apply your expertise in Cyber Security risk assessments, identifying and applying security controls, developing ICT Security analytics, and more.

What you'll do:

As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and uplifting ICT systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing Cyber Security risk assessments in an Australian Government context, identifying and applying security controls to large scale capabilities, developing ICT Security analytics, providing advice on the requirements for ICT Security controls. You will also operate IT security systems including next generation firewalls, intrusion detection among others. Your ability to review current system security controls and implement remedial actions will be key to this role.

  • Performing Cyber Security risk assessments in an Australian Government context.
  • Identifying and applying security controls to large scale, complex capabilities.
  • Developing ICT Security analytics.
  • Providing advice and guidance on the requirements for ICT Security controls.
  • Undertaking ICT security threat and risk assessments.
  • Operating IT security systems including next generation firewalls, intrusion detection, web application firewalls, content filtering, API security, DDoS protection, proxies, endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, user behaviour analytics, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, identity and access control systems, application whitelisting, device control, Public Key Infrastructure and encryption solutions.
  • Reviewing current system security controls and implementing remedial actions.
  • Developing and operating systems for security automation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned Security Engineer with extensive experience in Cyber Security risk assessments. You have a proven track record of identifying and applying security controls to large scale capabilities. Your proficiency in developing ICT Security analytics sets you apart from others. You are knowledgeable about the requirements for ICT Security controls and have experience undertaking ICT security threat and risk assessments. Your expertise in operating IT security systems and your ability to review current system security controls and implement remedial actions will be key to your success in this role.

  • Proven experience as a Security Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Cyber Security risk assessments.
  • Experience with large scale security control applications.
  • Proficiency in developing ICT Security analytics.
  • Ability to provide advice on the requirements for ICT Security controls.
  • Experience undertaking ICT security threat and risk assessments.
  • Expertise in operating IT security systems.
  • Ability to review current system security controls and implement remedial actions.
  • Experience with systems for security automation.
