Senior Network Security Engineer ($170K - $210K + Super)

Our client, a leading global trading firm with a strong presence in financial markets, is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join their team in Sydney. This role provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring the stability, speed, and support of their critical network and Unix platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, researchers, and hardware engineers on projects requiring a robust and scalable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing infrastructure deployments across data centers in the Asia-Pacific region. Your responsibilities will include building, managing, and supporting a complex international LAN/WAN and security setup. You will drive the research and implementation of infrastructure optimizations to enhance capacity and reliability. Collaboration is essential as you will work with developers, researchers, and hardware engineers on critical projects. Your role will also involve automating, monitoring, and benchmarking various network systems, as well as troubleshooting issues related to LAN/WANs and firewall infrastructures.

• Support end-to-end infrastructure deployments in Asia-Pacific data centers, including network and security platforms
• Build, manage, and support a complex international LAN/WAN and security environment
• Lead research, innovation, and implementation of capacity and reliability optimizations
• Collaborate with developers, researchers, and hardware engineers on infrastructure projects
• Automate, monitor, and benchmark network and system performance
• Troubleshoot issues in LAN/WAN and firewall infrastructure

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in network security, with a minimum of 7 years in the field. You are skilled at troubleshooting complex network and security issues and have a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting zone-based firewalls, specifically with Checkpoint and Palo Alto technologies. Experience working in multi-zone, multi-tier firewall environments across the APAC region is essential, as is proficiency in managing Unix systems and handling network and firewall issues.

• 7+ years of experience as a network security engineer
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting zone-based firewalls with Checkpoint and Palo Alto technologies
• Expertise in multi-zone, multi-tier firewall architecture across APAC
• Proficiency in managing Unix systems
• Strong skills in monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN and firewall infrastructure
