Security Engineer - 3 Month Contract - Hybrid - Melbourne

In this role, you'll deliver, manage, and optimise security platforms with a focus on identity, email, web security, EDR, and vulnerability management, both in on-premises and cloud environments. You'll be responsible for implementing, configuring, and updating security tools, as well as monitoring and responding to operational alerts to minimise business impact. Documenting solutions, including standard operating procedures and support guides, is essential, along with reporting on the effectiveness of security tooling and driving continuous improvement. You'll also develop and maintain automation for build and deployment processes, promote CI/CD practices, support platform incidents, and work to prevent future occurrences, all while ensuring quality, security, performance, and resilience across platforms.

Security Engineer - 3 Month Contract - Hybrid - Melbourne

Requirements:

  • Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IPS/IDS, EDR, and SWG.
  • Knowledge of security standards like NIST and ISO27001.
  • Familiarity with identity protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth) and tools like Okta.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Proficiency in automation, configuration, and compliance tooling.
  • Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and containerized workloads.
  • Knowledge of software development patterns and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan ahead and take appropriate actions considering constraints.
