Cyber Security Engineer - Microsegmentation

A leading enterprise Government organisation is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer with expertise in AWS, Azure, and micro-segmentation to join their dynamic security team. This individual will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization’s cloud infrastructure by implementing and managing security solutions, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage cloud security solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures in line with best practices.
• Lead the deployment of micro-segmentation techniques to enhance network security and limit lateral movement of threats.
• Perform security assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the broader IT and cloud infrastructure.
• Continuously monitor, analyse, and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats to proactively address potential risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud security in AWS and Azure environments.
• In-depth knowledge of micro-segmentation strategies and their application in enhancing network security.
• Experience with security tools and platforms for monitoring and incident response in cloud ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network protocols.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, or similar are highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
