Senior Data Analyst

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in driving their data transformation program. This permanent position, based in Sydney, offers the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders, design and implement data solutions, and ensure data quality and integrity. Your technical prowess and attention to detail will be instrumental in optimising data architectures, identifying data risks, and promoting data-driven decision-making. You'll also work closely with the Chief Data Office to align with data governance standards and contribute to the overall success of the program.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Data Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around driving a data transformation program. You'll be at the forefront of sourcing and reviewing data architectures, collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, developing and maintaining crucial data models, diagrams, and dictionaries. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in ensuring data integrity across all systems while optimising for scalability and performance. Your commitment to compliance will guide your actions as you navigate through privacy and record-keeping obligations.

• Source and review data architecture and models across applications to determine data migration impact
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and act as a proxy between technical and business specifications
• Develop and maintain data models, flow diagrams, and dictionaries
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across all systems through risk identification, mitigation, and control uplifts
• Optimise and enhance data architecture for scalability and performance
• Ensure compliance with data, privacy, and record-keeping obligations
• Work closely with IT and business teams to align data strategies with business goals

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Data Analyst role brings a strong technical skill set coupled with a passion for data. You have a deep understanding of data architecture, modelling, governance principles which you've applied in designing, implementing, maintaining various types of data structures. Your proficiency in SQL, SAS, Azure has been proven in previous roles where you've successfully collaborated with diverse stakeholders. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch enabling you to resolve any potential issues related to data quality. Experience within a regulated financial institution would be highly desirable.
