Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer with a focus on Network Automation to join their team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to work on mid to large-scale networking projects, crafting scripts and playbooks to automate network modifications. Your expertise in Ansible and Python will be instrumental in supporting their network automation platform. What you'll do:

As a Network Engineer focusing on Network Automation, you will play a pivotal role in our client's networking projects. You will craft scripts and playbooks that automate bulk network modifications, extending your scripting expertise to database queries. Your proficiency in Ansible and Python will be instrumental in supporting the network automation platform. You will also develop software applications within the networking domain, tackling complex network challenges head-on. Your role will also involve designing and executing effective database queries, as well as constructing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for smooth testing and release processes.

• Craft scripts and playbooks/cookbooks to seamlessly automate bulk network modifications
• Extend your scripting expertise to database queries, bolstering databases housing network telemetry and status information
• Leverage your proficiency in Ansible and Python to support the network automation platform
• Develop software applications within the networking domain, showcasing your ability to tackle complex network challenges
• Design and execute effective database queries, coupled with hands-on familiarity with MongoDB
• Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins, to ensure smooth testing and release processes

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Network Engineer role brings a wealth of experience in Networking Software Development, particularly within Firewall Infrastructure. You are proficient in Automation Tools such as Ansible, capable of crafting custom plugins that streamline network operations. Your familiarity with infrastructure-as-code principles allows you to architect scalable network configurations. You are knowledgeable about Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and have a high level of expertise in Python or another mainstream programming language. Your proficiency in designing and executing effective database queries, coupled with your familiarity with MongoDB, will be invaluable. Lastly, you have a deep understanding of software testing strategies and are capable of constructing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Expertise in Networking Software Development with experience in Firewall Infrastructure ie Juniper SRX, Security Director/Fortinet FortiGate, Forti Manager
• Mastery of Automation Tools such as Ansible with demonstrated capability to craft custom plugins and modules that streamline network operations
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and config-as-code principles
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux
• High level of expertise in a mainstream programming language, preferably Python
• Proficiency in designing and executing effective database queries with hands-on familiarity with MongoDB
• Deep understanding of software testing strategies along with the ability to construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines
