POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE
This Software Organisation is looking for a talented software tester to join a small team of developers who together form part of our global research and development team, creating software products, including but not limited to; geospatial image preparation, compression and serving technology.

OBJECTIVES / MAIN ACTIVITES
A software tester is responsible for ensuring the high standard and quality of the company's software products. You will work directly with the development team as an integral part of the development process, working towards delivery of products. Your duties will include the following:

• Perform Software Quality Assurance and Testing on the company’s products.
• Create, maintain and improve the existing Python automation testing suites and benchmarking tools.
• Perform user and functional testing.
• Assist with DevOps tasks, including maintenance of the CI build system.
• Assist with technical documentation.
• Liaise directly with customers to ensure the scope and requirements of the software are adequately met.
• Liaise directly with support and customers to perform software install and error diagnosis.

• Effective time management and prioritisation skills to manage multiple requests and stakeholders

• Ability to write technical processes and business documentation; able to communicate issues and resolutions clearly
• Good listening, questioning and presentation
• Analytical approach to root-cause analysis and solution of technical problems
• Ability to liaise with third party providers, consultants, US, European and Asia Pacific technical personnel

QUALIFICATIONS & POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• 3 - 5 years’ experience as a software tester/automation testing.
• Python programming language development experience.
• Knowledge and experience with modern automation software testing practices
• Experience with web standards and technologies (e.g. HTTP, REST, JSON, CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript etc.)
• Knowledge of modern software development techniques and methodologies (e.g. Agile/SCRUM)
• Additionally, experience in these areas would be considered highly advantageous:
• Image processing (geospatial imagery from airborne or satellite sources in the terapixel range).
• Mapping or GIS systems.
• Multi-language programming & scripting (e.g. Java, C/C++, C#, JavaScript)
• Database setup and management.
• Visualisation & container technologies (e.g. Hyper-V, Docker).
• Continuous integration and delivery (e.g. Jenkins).
• Multi-platform development or testing experience (e.g. Windows Server & Linux minimum).
