Senior Systems Engineer

Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing of advanced braking systems, is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team of 10. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-level design, implementation, and testing of rail automation systems.

If you have a background in control systems within an embedded system environment and strong customer relationship experience, this role could be the perfect fit.

Responsibilities includes:

• Collaborate on the design, development, analysis, and testing of new train dynamics algorithms
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing products
• Analyse field data and test results using tools like Excel, Matlab, Python, etc.
• Design and develop algorithms to model and control train dynamics
• Develop train control methodologies and algorithms using common analysis and modelling tools
• Prepare detailed design documentation for new projects
• Adhere to all company software and development processes
• Interface with other departments as needed to ensure project success
• High customer engagement

Experience and Skills Needed:

• Strong previous customer experience
• The ideal candidate for this role will have a solid technical background, a passion for the rail industry, and the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong understanding and ability to model complex physical systems
• Demonstrable expertise in at least one programming language
• Experience with data analysis using Excel, Matlab, Python, etc.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux-like environments
• Experience in building, maintaining, or testing software-based control system
