Senior Engineer (Microsoft, Azure, AWS, DevOps)

Our Federal Government client is looking for a DevOps Engineer with proven experience inMicrosoft environments, experience in AWS and Azure, and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. This candidate will manage the delivery, maintenance, and support of the departments technical infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between development and operations. This position will involve working across multiple projects, collaborating with technical and non-technical teams, and prioritising tasks to meet diverse requirements.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the delivery, maintenance, and support of the departments technical infrastructure. You will ensure seamless integration between development and operations, applying expertise in Microsoft environments, AWS, and Azure. This role requires a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to work across multiple projects, collaborating with technical and non-technical teams while prioritising tasks to meet diverse requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support infrastructure solutions using Microsoft technologies, integrating AWS and Azure where required.

  • Work across the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring smooth transitions from development to deployment and ongoing support.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical delivery, translating technical and non-technical requirements into actionable solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project needs and implement DevOps best practices.

  • Manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery while balancing competing demands.

  • Provide troubleshooting and support for application development, infrastructure issues, and platform optimisation.

  • Apply a technology-agnostic approach to work across various platforms as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal Government governance processes and frameworks, adapting work practices to meet these standards.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft infrastructure and cloud technologies (AWS and Azure)

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with hands-on development experience in applications or software

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects, with excellent prioritisation and multitasking skills

  • Exceptional communication skills can translate technical requirements into non-technical language and vice versa

  • Broad technical expertise with the ability to adapt to various platforms and environments

  • Experience working in a Federal Government setting, with knowledge of governance and compliance processes
