Experience Designer

Save job

Initial contract for an experience designer with strong UX research skills and user facing research experience.

Priority skills

  • Local candidate preferred (Newcastle, Central Coast, Hunter Valley), willing to be on campus 2 days a week
  • Good stakeholder engagement skills (not just with users, but all project stakeholders – especially less technically minded business sponsors)
  • Good cultural fit that has worked in university/government/council type environment previously would be a plus
  • Strong interpersonal collaboration skills
  • Project has already kicked off, so someone who can hit the ground running

General skills

  • Will be embedded in 2 separate project teams, so needs to be flexible and open to working in different working styles
  • Strong UX research skills, user facing research and ability to synthesise and present data to stakeholders with low design literacy
  • Some service design involved, but focus will be platform selection, stakeholder engagement, user research, platform configuration recommendations (project team will be very open to types of artefacts required to document/communicate this).
  • Engagement will include helping to procure platform – experience assessing platforms from a UX perspective would be ideal
  • Focus on configuration of platform – will need to be able to work within constraints of platform and be innovative to achieve desired user experience
