Senior Legal Counsel - Disputes/Litigation

You will be joining a leading Australian Big Bank with a focus on disputes and litigation within a collaborative and supportive team as a Senior Legal Counsel.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

• Proactive management of legal risk, business reputation and exposure to litigation through the provision of high quality, timely, commercially relevant and cost-effective legal services
• Independent and active management of major disputes and litigation, such as class actions, with a focus on implementing and driving the business's litigation strategy
• Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external law firms to minimise business disruption caused by disputes and to help the business deliver on its key priorities
• Internal leadership, including coaching, mentoring and developing the more junior lawyers in the team

About You

You have:

• Minimum 8PQE from a well regarded law firm or in-house legal environment
• Experience in dispute resolution and commercial litigation
• Preferably experience in class actions or regulatory investigations
