You are a Legal Counsel specialising in technology related legal work who will be joining a market leading domestic bank with a reputation for excellent culture, flexibility and development in Sydney or Melbourne.

About the Company
The company is a leading domestic bank with a strong reputation in the market for excellent culture, flexibility and development within their established legal function.


About the Role
Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the technology legal team on technology projects both on a domestic and global scale
  • Collaborate with business units to facilitate banking transactions proactively
  • Contribute to identifying and executing initiatives that enhance product governance and manage legal risks to achieve financial gains for the bank
  • Stay ahead of potential legal impacts on the bank from proposed law reforms, managing legal risks in a business-oriented manner. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the business is prepared for regulatory and legislative changes
  • Foster a culture where the Legal department safeguards the bank's balance sheet, strategic direction, and reputation



About You
You have:

  • Minimum 3PQE with relevant legal qualifications and current practising certificate
  • Strong technology experience within a reputable law firm and/or in-house environment
