General Counsel

You’ll lead the legal function end-to-end, partnering directly with the CEO and senior leadership team to support strategic and transactional initiatives. This is not a purely advisory role, you’ll be deeply involved in the detail, drafting and negotiating key commercial and funding agreements, and ensuring the business continues to grow with confidence within the regulatory framework.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary legal advisor to the CEO, Board, and Executive team

• Structure and negotiate complex lending, funding and securitisation deals

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including loan and vendor agreements

• Oversee corporate governance, risk and compliance frameworks

• Advise on financial services regulation, including NCCP, ASIC, and AML/CTF requirements

• Manage disputes and external counsel as needed

• Provide commercially sound, solutions-focused advice that supports business growth

About You

• 8+ years PQE gained within financial services, banking or a fintech environment

• Proven experience in deal structuring and transactional support

• Confident working “on the tools” – drafting, negotiating and executing agreements

• Strong understanding of lending, treasury and consumer credit regulation

• Highly collaborative with exceptional communication and stakeholder skills

• Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business
