Deputy General Counsel

You will be joining a leading ASX-listed investment and asset management group as Deputy General Counsel to join their high-performing legal team. This senior role will be providing strategic legal, corporate governance and regulatory advice to support the organisation’s growth and long-term strategy.

About the Role
As Deputy General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s corporate legal framework, advising on complex matters, and influencing decision-making at the highest levels. You’ll lead governance initiatives, oversee key corporate actions, manage regulatory obligations, and contribute to the execution of major transactions across the group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely, commercial and strategic legal advice to the Board and Executive Leadership Team
  • Review marketing materials, product documentation and fund disclosure documents
  • Support AFSL compliance arrangements, new fund launches and scheme establishment
  • Lead the internal due-diligence committee and ensure robust governance throughout transaction processes


About You
You have:

  • Minimum 12PQE with relevant qualification in Law and current Australian practising certificate
  • Significant experience in corporate, funds management, or similar environments, gained in private practice, in-house, or both
  • Strong working knowledge of the Corporations Act, financial services regulation, and ASX Listing Rules
  • Commercially astute with excellent judgement, analytical ability and professional integrity
