Senior Legal Counsel

You will be joining a leading listed alternative asset manager as a Senior Legal Counsel within their established and dynamic legal team based in Melbourne.

About the Role
The company are a market-leading listed alternative asset manager with a strong collaborative environment, an established legal team and opportunities for development and progression.
Responsibilities include:

• Advise on the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of wholesale funds across multiple alternative asset classes
• Draft, negotiate and review fund formation documents, fund constitutions, investment management agreements, and service provider agreements
• Provide guidance on Corporations Act, ASIC regulatory requirements, AFSL obligations and broader financial services law
• Work closely with investment, distribution, risk and compliance teams to manage legal and regulatory risk across all strategies
• Monitor regulatory developments relevant to wholesale funds and alternative investment vehicles

About You
You have:

• +6 years’ PQE from a top-tier law firm or in-house funds management environment
• Deep knowledge of fund structures, financial services regulation and alternative investment products
• Strong drafting skills, commercial judgment and the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice
• Collaborative, proactive mindset with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders
