Legal Counsel - Part-Time

Join a leading global fintech as a part-time legal counsel focusing on broad commercial legal matters, consumer law, data and privacy law within a friendly, high-performing and flexible legal team in Sydney.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise on all legal aspects of a significant strategic partnership, including data privacy and competition issues.

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer agreements, IT and licence arrangements, confidentiality agreements and joint venture documentation.

  • Provide timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice to a range of internal stakeholders across the business.

  • Support the Legal and Compliance teams in maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance and contractual governance.

  • Partner with senior management to deliver pragmatic legal solutions that align with commercial outcomes.

About You

You have:

  • 3–7 years’ post-admission experience as a commercial lawyer, ideally gained within financial services or a technology-driven environment.

  • Prior in-house experience (or top-tier law firm experience supporting large corporate clients).

  • Strong technical skills in contract drafting and negotiation and a solid understanding of data privacy, competition and consumer law.

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate legal advice into clear commercial guidance.

  • Highly organised, business-minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • A proactive self-starter who enjoys collaborating with bright, motivated colleagues.
