A well established and growing Australian migration law practice is seeking an experienced Migration Lawyer to join its Sydney team. This opportunity suits a lawyer who is passionate about immigration law and motivated by meaningful, client focused work with real impact. This role offers exposure to a diverse and interesting caseload across visas, appeals, and complex advisory work, within a collaborative and supportive legal environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing your own matters while collaborating closely with senior lawyers and support staff. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing Australian immigration law advice tailored to client needs
• Drafting legal submissions for visa applications, reviews, and appeals
• Managing files efficiently and in accordance with compliance standards
• Appearing before courts and tribunals where required
• Maintaining timely and professional client communication
• Managing monthly budgets and file billing
• Coaching and supporting junior team members

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Admission as an Australian legal practitioner with a current NSW Practising Certificate
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience practising Australian migration law
• Strong client management and communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
• A proactive, solution focused mindset
• A second language is advantageous but not essential
