Communications Coordinator

What you'll do:
- Draft, edit, and proofread high-quality written content tailored for both internal and external audiences, including newsletters, media releases, social media posts, website articles, reports, and briefing materials.
- Ensure all communications are accurate, accessible, clear, and consistently aligned with organisational values and brand guidelines.
- Adapt messaging effectively for different audiences, channels, and purposes to maximise engagement and understanding.
- Coordinate communication activities by managing timelines, approvals processes, stakeholder inputs, and ensuring all tasks are tracked efficiently.
- Support the preparation of comprehensive reports, impactful presentations, and detailed communication plans for various projects.
- Liaise closely with internal teams as well as external stakeholders to gather relevant information and ensure messaging is consistent across all platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date content calendars, media lists, and communications databases to streamline workflow and enhance team productivity.
- Assist in monitoring media coverage and digital channels by preparing regular updates and reporting on communications activity outcomes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Head of Strategic Communications and contribute positively to the wider team’s objectives.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences across various platforms.
- Outstanding organisational skills combined with strong coordination abilities that enable you to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field where you have delivered impactful content under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset with the capacity to work harmoniously alongside colleagues and stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with a commitment to producing high-quality work that reflects positively on the organisation’s reputation.
- Advanced research skills complemented by data analysis capabilities and critical thinking proficiency when developing or reviewing content.
- Experience working within government agencies, health organisations or not-for-profit sectors would be highly regarded but is not essential for success in this position.
- Expertise in using PowerPoint or similar presentation tools at an advanced level would be advantageous for preparing engaging visual materials.
- A proactive attitude characterised by reliability, initiative-taking behaviour and sound professional judgement when faced with new challenges.
