Content Writer - Contract

This role offers you the opportunity to shape and deliver meaningful, customer-focused stories and communications that make a real difference for members, employers, and advisers. You will be at the heart of a collaborative environment, working with cross-functional teams to co-create innovative content journeys and campaigns that continually enhance the customer experience in a tightly regulated market.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate within the Strategic Content team to create, edit, and deliver compelling copy for various digital marketing channels that resonates with members, employers, and advisers.
  • Develop content that demonstrates thought leadership by addressing customer challenges and highlighting products and value propositions with creativity and cultural curiosity.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all content while ensuring clarity and simplicity for diverse audiences.
  • Work closely with Customer & Growth team as well as product, risk, compliance, legal, and design teams to align content strategies with organisational goals.
  • Contribute actively to campaign planning and execution by collaborating with wider teams to deliver impactful communications.
  • Manage content reviews by coordinating feedback from multiple stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high quality in every piece produced.
  • Advocate for the customer experience by identifying opportunities to improve content processes and outcomes throughout project lifecycles.
  • Balance competing priorities and deadlines while managing multiple projects independently or as part of a team.
  • Ensure all communications meet brand guidelines as well as legal, compliance, and technical requirements without compromising creativity or impact.
  • Support broader communication strategies related to legislative changes such as Payday Super by developing simple yet compelling messages.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in journalism, marketing, communications or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience writing for digital platforms within superannuation, financial services or other heavily regulated industries is essential.
  • Proven track record of simplifying complex information into customer-centric content that is easy to understand yet impactful.
  • Exceptional creativity combined with enthusiasm for crafting content that captivates audiences across multiple channels.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with an innate flair for storytelling that connects emotionally with readers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams including marketing, product development, risk management, compliance, legal affairs, design agencies—and external partners such as writing agencies.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and behavioural science is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Self-starter attitude paired with robust project management capabilities; comfortable navigating compliance reviews independently or within teams.
  • High-impact communication skills allowing you to present ideas clearly so they inspire action among colleagues and customers alike.
