A top College in Brisbane are looking for an Events and Marketing Specialist to join their team on an 8 month basis to cover a Maternity leave.
The position holder is required to initiate, maintain, deliver and manage all events, external venue hire and internal event catering requirements of the College.
Key Tasks:
• Liaise with key stakeholders to understand the whole College event calendar and develop strategic event opportunities throughout the year across the full College community
• Co-ordinate all aspects of the College’s major events including but not limited to, celebrations, marketing events, carnivals, fundraisers, Parent and Friends events, Old Boys’ events and Foundation events.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure venue supervision is adequately maintained and operational requirements fulfilled;
• Compliance with administration and organisational policies and procedures and legislative requirements, including WHS, Information Security and EEO.
• Liaise with the finance department to ensure all invoices are prepared and follow up payments where necessary • Manage reporting and projection of future bookings
• Assist with the marketing of the College’s facilities to maximise bookings
• Proactively manage the College’s internal venue booking calendar
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in event management, marketing and/or community engagement, an understanding of the operations of a school environment is highly regarded but not essential
• Computer literate including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of EventPro, Visio, Monitor, TryBooking and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) is highly regarded but not essential
• Excellent organisation and administrative skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop positive relationships and work collaboratively
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation skills
• Flexibility and ability to work out of hours to support events as required
• The ability to effectively prioritise work, work autonomously where required and communicate progress or impediments in a timely manner
