This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop Preliminary Evaluations, Detailed Business Cases, and Ministerial Infrastructure Designations for a New Schools Planning unit. What you'll do:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing the planning phase of a significant project. You will be responsible for coordinating teams of external consultants, assisting with procurement activities, and liaising with various stakeholder groups. Your ability to provide project-specific advice to management will be crucial in this role. Furthermore, your commitment to building strong communication channels and collaborative partnerships will facilitate the achievement of project objectives. Your role will also involve maintaining high-standard project programs and conducting thorough risk assessments.

Develop Preliminary Evaluations, Detailed Business Cases, and Ministerial Infrastructure Designations for New Schools Planning unit with minimal supervision
Coordinate teams of external consultants for efficient development of the work
Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants
Liaise as necessary with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies
Provide project specific advice to management and the executive, and liaise with other units as required
Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultants
Build and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units and external agencies to facilitate achievement of project objectives
Develop and maintain project programs to a high standard
Undertake project risk assessments to ensure both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigated


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Project Manager position brings extensive experience in the capital infrastructure space, with a particular focus on the planning phase. Your excellent communication skills and ability to take instruction effectively will be key in this role. You are a self-starter who can take initiative and solve problems, always keeping the bigger picture in mind. Your strong stakeholder engagement skills will be crucial in managing conflicting internal stakeholders' opinions/agendas. Above all, your commitment to the project and goal-orientated nature will make you a valuable addition to our team.

Between 5-15 years’ experience working in the capital infrastructure space as senior PM or PM equivalent
Ample client-side experience, bonus if they have government experience. Experience in Planning Phase is essential
Excellent communication skills
Ability to take instruction effectively
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Self-starter that can take initiative and solve problems
Project and delivery orientated
Goal orientated and team player
Commitment to the project
