Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to further strengthen our client’s high-performing and expanding team, where you can take your skills to the next level.

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and modifying low voltage electrical design drawings for industrial power and control systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Development and modification of low voltage electrical design drawings for industrial power and control systems
• Selection/specification of industrial instrumentation.
• Selection/sizing/specification of low voltage electrical equipment.
• Developing EI&C schedules (e.g., cable, instrument, IO).
• Assisting with and reviewing multidisciplinary deliverables.
• Proposal preparation and engineering cost estimates.
• Developing plans and scopes of work for the installation of Instrument/Electrical systems.
• Light and LV Power Electrical Calculations.
• Developing reports for calculation results.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, on schedule and on budget.
• Supporting and driving a HSEQ-centric culture within the company.

Desirable experience and skills:

• Background in electrical system studies (including AS3000 cable sizing, protection and controls – ideally through PowerCAD software).
• Minimum of five years proven technical experience
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Proficient understanding of key Australian standards including AS3000.
• Background in detailed specification of LV switchgear, LV equipment and instrumentation for heavy industrial applications.
• Significant experience in industrial electrical design engineering.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
