Electrical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team working on projects across the oil and gas, defence, and renewables industries. This role offers the chance to work on detailed electrical designs environments in hazardous areas. The successful candidate will implement LV electrical design, safety control systems and functional safety systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement detailed LV electrical designs safety control systems.
• Working on the interpretation and preparation of client specifications.
• Designing control systems in accordance with Australian and international standards for renewable/power Facilitate problem-solving to achieve engineering solutions.
• Creating detailed electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD.
• Train and mentor more junior engineers through good team-building skills.
• Build long-term relationships within a supportive team environment.

What you bring:

• Proven experience in an instrumentation/electrical engineering related field or relevant projects.
• Significant expertise as an Electrical Design Engineer.
• Strong technical understanding of general electrical, instrumentation, and controls principals.
• Design, expertise in the oil and gas, defence, and renewable industries sector including commercial and industrial projects.
• Experience with single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, distribution panels, and layouts including lighting, switchgear, lightning protection system, earthing, generator, conduit, and cable tray.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational and fault-finding skills.
• High level of attention to detail and capacity to multitask and to work under pressure.
