Discipline Lead - Structures * Sydney CBD * Permanent Role * Work on a leading rail project

Robert Walters is currently partnering with a leading rail owner that is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to provide specialist advice and provide leadership to a small team of engineers.

Key responsibilities:

• Leadership of the structural engineering team
• Governance of the discipline section of the scope and performance requirements
• Support the contractors and designer teams to achieve the objectives for aspects of the works package
• Advise project teams on technical design and construction risks that may arise over the duration of the project, with views defining and resolving the issues
• Prepare and/or input to service briefs for work by external contractors or consultants
• Interface with engineers on technical matters
• Provide advice on technical engineering matters to help administer contracts
• Facilitate the change management process for technical related changes.
• Technical leadership to external Consultants and contractors’ engineers

About you:

• Extensive experience (10+ years) as a Structural Engineer
• Tertiary qualification in technical discipline (eg. civil/structural engineering degree)
• Certification; CPEng
• Demonstrated experience in the design and construction of rail infrastructure (eg. railway bridges, road overbridges, culverts and retaining walls)
• Excellent communication & engagement skills
