Purchasing Officer

We are currently partnering with a leading organisation within the mining and heavy industry sector to recruit an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their procurement team based in East Perth. This role will support multiple operational sites across Australia, ensuring critical parts, equipment and services are sourced and delivered on time to maintain operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities in line with procurement policies

  • Source mining parts, mechanical components, consumables and services

  • Raise and manage purchase orders within ERP systems

  • Monitor supplier performance and follow up on outstanding or overdue orders

  • Expedite urgent and critical parts to meet operational deadlines

  • Coordinate freight, logistics and courier bookings

  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and communication

  • Investigate and resolve invoice and purchasing discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and system updates

About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing or Procurement

  • Experience within mining, heavy industry, engineering or maintenance environments highly regarded

  • Exposure to purchasing mechanical or equipment spare parts preferred

  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
